30th June

      

The next England event will be played at Edgeley Park, Stockport, Cheshire on the 17th & 18th July.

The weekend starts off with the Ladies and Men's England National Singles events which carry a combined prize fund of £4,000, both singles titles will be played on the morning of 17th July.

Then at 2pm there will be Ladies and Mens pairs competitions, with the winning ladies taking home £250 and the winning men's pair getting £500.

Sunday 18th will see the 2010 England Masters Ladies and Mens Singles titles contested and this year they both have BDO Invitation Points available.

29th June

Following on from the success of the 2010 England Open, there appears to be good news around the corner concerning the 2011 England Open.

The 2011 event will be the fourth Open staged at Bunn Leisure. England Chairman, Tommy Thompson said "This year the prize fund was a total of £20,500 and you can trust me that next year it will be massive. It is our intention to make the 2011 England Open the biggest prize money event in the world, with comparable entry fees."

To reserve a caravan for the 2011 Open you only need to pay a £20 deposit by ringing Bunn Leisure on 01243 606080.

England Darts Organisation will also be staging the England Classic at the Sussex holiday centre from the 24th - 26th September when there will be a £15,000 prize fund.

England Open Draws

The draws for the England Open events will be made at Bunn Leisure on Friday and as soon as they are available they will be posted on this page.

There will be regular updates, on this page, throughout the whole weekend direct from the Open.


21st June

England Masters -17th & 18th July

Entries for the England Masters to be played at Edgeley Park, Stockport can be made online by clicking here or you can download full details by clicking here.

The weekend will include a ladies and men's BDO ranked singles events on Sunday July 18th, whilst on Saturday 17th July there will be ladies and men's pairs events following on from the England National Singles.

The entry fee for the youth singles is £3, the ladies singles is £10 and the men's is £12, providing the entry is received by July 12th, entries after the 12th will be youths £5, Ladies £13 & Mens £15.

The weekend has a prize fund of £7,500 for the England Masters plus £4,500 for the National Singles events.


20th June

England Open - 25th, 26th & 27th June

We would like to remind those players going to the England Open, that play will get underway on Friday 25th with a ladies and men's money in-money out events.

The entry fee is £10 for both events and all the entry fees will be paid out in prize money.

Players must register between 19.00 and 20.00 for a 20.30 start.

Winmau World Masters Play-Offs

There has been a change of date for the Northern Area play-offs, it will be played on the 28th August whilst the other three will still be played on the 29th August.

Obituary - Mick Getty

We are very sad to hear that Mick Getty passed away earlier today, after a long illness.

Mick was 65 and was a former England Selector. He had worked for the BDO for over 25 years and was the current Premier Division Group Director.

Mick had been involved with darts all his life and was a founder member of his native Merseyside, where he was Honorary President. He was also the President of Glamorgan, where his wife, Sue is the County Secretary.

On behalf of the England Darts Organisation we would like to pass on our condolences to Sue and also Mick's family

The world is a sadder place today without Mick.

 

26th May        

The funeral service for Mick will be held at the St David's Methodist Church, Colcot, Barry at 12.30pm on Friday June 4th, followed by cremation at Coychuch Crematorium, Crematorium Lodge, Coychurch, Bridgend, CF35 6AB.  at 2.15.

Flowers can be sent to the Funeral Directors who are James Pidgeon & Son Ltd, 539 Cowbridge Road East, Victoria Park, Cardiff, CF5 1BD.

7th May          The first 6 entries for the "Early Bird 64" at the England Classic to be played at Bunn Leisure on Friday 24th September. It now leaves just 58 places in the competition.

This is the first competition of it's type run by the England Darts Organisation and it has a £3,300 prize fund with a £25 entry fee. Players winning their first match will be guaranteed to get their money back, the winner will win £1,000.

In addition to the "Early Bird 64" there is a full weekend of events, to ensure you can get the accommodation you want we suggest you book now.

The final qualifier to be confirmed was the Northern area which will be played at Rainton Meadows in County Durham.

24th April

Details of three of the four regional play-offs are now available by clicking here

Each of the 43 English Counties are entitled to enter four youth girls, four youth boys, four ladies and four men into the regional final where places are at stake in the Winmau World Masters events to be played in Hull on the 29th to 31st October.

There was great news from Winmau this week as they extended their sponsorship of the World Masters until 2015, the first Winmau World Masters was played in 1974 which makes it's partnership with the BDO one of the longest in world sport.

The England International Appearances have now been updated following the recent British Internationals.

Trina Gulliver and Martin Adams extended their place at the top of each respective lists, Karen Lawman has now moved into third place in the ladies list.

15th April

The England Open to be played at the superb Bunn Leisure complex at Selsey, Sussex from the 25th to 27th June has no more on site accommodation available.

However players can still enter without being resident at the complex by paying a £5 per day site entrance fee.

Mike Caven (Operations Director) at Bunn Leisure, says :

The England men's squad for the weekends British Internationals has been changed as Dave Chisnall has withdrawn due to personal problems. His replacement is Andy Beardmore of Staffordshire.

The Appearances Page has now been updated, following the recent Six Nations events.

We would like to congratulate Tony O'Shea who became only the fifth player to make 50 appearances for England.

Both the Captains, Trina Gulliver and Martin Adams extended their records as respective record appearance holders, whilst Martin has now won more International matches than any other England player.

We are pleased to announce that 165 caravans have already been booked at Bunn Leisure for the 2010 England Open to be played on the 25th, 26th & 27th June.

Anyone intending to book a caravan for the weekend are advised to book them as soon as possible as there is a limited number available. Click on the England Open logo above for booking form.

For those that have already booked their caravan but not entered the events, you can enter on line by going to the Online Entry link at the top of this page or click here

For those people who wish to play (or spectators) at the event but do not wish to book a caravan, they must pay £5 to enter the camp on each day, there will be no exceptions.

In the Ladies squad there is a debut call up for Lorraine Farlam and this is after she had been the stand by player for the last two years.

In the Mens squad there are recalls for Stephen Bunting, Steve Douglas and Paul Hogan.

The squads will travel to Bridlington to take part in the 2010 British Internationals, on the 10th & 11th April.

Tricia Wright and Dave Chisnall will travel with the squads, but they will not play in the respective teams first games, a decision will be made after the first games as to whether they play in the second match.

ENGLAND MASTERS WEEKEND - 17th & 18th July 2010

We are very pleased to announce that arrangements are now being finalised for the second England Masters, which was run very successfully at the Sale Sharks Conference Centre last year.

This year both the Mens and Ladies singles events will have BDO Invitational points at stake, in addition to these competitions there will also be a youth singles, and a ladies and men's pairs competitions.

The Saturday will start off with the final of the England National Singles followed by the Ladies and Mens Pairs, with all the singles events being played on the Sunday.

It is a chance to make a great weekend of darts away and we will be teaming up with some local hotels, which are close by and at a reasonable rate, more details to follow.

Once again entries will be taken online and the earlier you enter the cheaper it will be.

The prize fund for the weekend is guaranteed, but there is still a possibility that this may be increased, subject to further sponsorship that is currently being discussed.

£10,000 ANGLO CELTIC COUNTY CUP WEEKEND

We are very pleased to announce that a new Inter-Counties KO Cup will be held from the 2nd to 4th July 2010 at the Lyons Robin Hood Holiday Park, Rhyl, North Wales.

It is a joint venture between the England Darts Organisation and Wales Darts Organisations.

The weekend will also see singles events for youths, ladies and men's as well as a money in money out singles event on the opening night.

The Six Nations cup will be played in the Republic of Ireland from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th February and England will be represented by the players below.
