10th
May - 2011 Event Cancelled
I received
a communication from Wales yesterday (Sunday) during our County match the due to
lack of confirmed entries the Anglo County Celtic Cup had been cancelled by the
holiday Camp. I do apologise for any convenience this has caused, this is not
what England want to be seen to be doing.
I think the problem has been caused by the camp double booking the event with
another which they were unable to re-schedule, and our event them was
re-scheduled with certain financial additions to which England were not party
too, thus making the event too expensive in a lot of counties opinion.
We will be working hard on finding an alternative for next season at a more
realistic costings. I think the concept of the event was good and for those
Counties who attended the original event, would agree it was a very good and
friendly competition.
Once again on behalf of The England Board please accept our apologies at such
short notice.
