We were very pleased to welcome the Drogheda Youths Darts Academy to the 2012 England Open at Bunn Leisure.

A party of 12 people, 9 of which are youth players will be competing at the Open.

The Academy was formed in January 2012 and currently has 22 playing members, who meet on a Monday, Friday and Sunday in the Thatch Function Room in Drogheda.

David Rath (Chairman) said that the academy has been set up to give the local kids something to do and keep them off the streets. David said he would like to see all of the players enjoy a game of darts and if one of them went on to represent Ireland that would be a dream come true.

They already have their own group on Facebook under Drogheda Darts and more players are always welcome.

They have been supplied with a set of shirts by Bohills who are a local heating company, www.bohills.ie
